The Copy and Paste Feature

(Learning and Programming in the Table View)

DotBlue.png From a CPS node's "Table View", this feature allows you to copy record / row data and then paste that record's data into another row. Copied data may also be brought into another program such as Microsoft's Excel. Copying record data into a program like Excel then offers access to features like Sort, Find and Replace and even custom Macros, that can facilitate additional data manipulation and therefore leveraging productivity; record data can then be copied and pasted back into a CPS Node's Table View.

DotBlue.png It is also possible to paste single field values, or multiple contiguous field values into a table row. However, you must first copy and paste the row into a spreadsheet (i.e. Excel), and then copy the desired value(s), and then paste those values back into the CPS node's Table View and at the proper location in the desired row.

To Copy data:

First right-click the cursor within the desired record / row of the Multiple Record Table, and then select "Copy".

DotGreen.png  "Copy" duplicates the entire table record, regardless of the cursor position in that record, meaning the cursor can be in any column in that record when right-clicking to retrieve the Copy selection for that row.

To Paste data:

First position the cursor in the desired record / row and in the column exactly where you want to start pasting values, then right click and select "Paste" from the menu .

DotRed.png  The cursor location is critical because the "Paste" operation starts pasting values from the column where you right-click the cursor in the table.

DotRed.png  To paste in an entire record you must place your cursor in the first column of the record.

DotRed.png  Only fields that are accessible (not grayed out) can accept the pasted data.
